Pour ceux qui sont adeptes de ecoute binaural , voici ce que j'ai reçu par mail de la part de danacable, s'i y 'en a qui ont un peu de temps à passer et qui sont curieux:
"This is Vinh Vu of Danacables.
I have been working on a concept of the Virtual Audio Showrooms to be offered online.
This could be presented as a cost-effective way of auditioning audio equipment online.
I envision this being offered by a manufacturer, an audio show organizer, or an audio publication to audiophiles worldwide who want to hear what the equipment sound like. If the users access a Virtual Audio Showroom they may first see a video presentation about what new products are being showcased, along with a list of the equipment and prices. Then they can pick from a pre-selected music playlist that the manufacturer has curated for their listening pleasure. The sound would be close to what they would hear if they had been able to be in the room. In these times of limited travel and gatherings I thought it could be well received.
How do we do this? I am partnering with Darin Fong of Darin Fong Audio in San Diego who has developed a software called Out-Of-Your-Head that can simulate the sound of a system in a particular room.
To do this, Darin would have to do a measurement of the room to capture its sound signature. Any music can be played subsequently via his software to render a sound close to the sound of the music being played in the room. This is not unlike how we imagine that our stereo system reproduces the recording as close to what the recording engineer hears. There never can be a certainty that we are hearing a true representation of the real recording unless we were at the recording session. So in my mind, everything is an approximation of the real event. This just take it to another level where the end users can access the showroom without having to physically be there.
The demo is binaural and must be listened to via headphones to hear the sound rendered complete with a 3-D effect of the real system.
This is where you come in as connoisseurs of headphones systems since you can best hear the demo through your high-end headphones.
So I am asking you to participate in this proof of concept demo by accessing this page:
http://clarissonaudio.com/virtual-showroom/
As this is at a very early stage of the project, I am asking you to not forward the link or discuss the concept with others until we operationalize the concept.
I only do this as I value your honest and frank feedback to help me flesh out the idea as a friend.
This demo is presented as a page on a website with multiple audio showrooms presented. By clicking a music track for the room, you can hear how that room would sound as if you were in the room. For this demo, we mock up four rooms, A, B, C, and D. The music track is the same for each room so you can compare the difference in how each room would sound. To create a virtual showroom, we would have to travel to capture the room that the manufacturer had set up to showcase their equipment
Again, since this is only a proof-of-concept demo, please DO NOT forward the link further.
Please give it a try and give us feedback.
At the end of your session you will be asked to complete the questionnaire at the bottom of the demo page. Please fill out the End Users’ Questionnaire.
Thank you in advance for your input.
